The healthcare system in our society is designed in such a way that it places more importance on getting approvals from health insurance companies rather than prioritizing patients' needs. Healthcare professionals are often constrained by time and resources, which can impact the quality and level of care they can provide. CEOs and upper management often focus more on profits than ensuring patients receive adequate care. These factors can all contribute to a healthcare system that is often more concerned with meeting financial targets than with serving the needs of those who rely on it.
Individuals who require immediate medical attention in emergency care settings often have concerns that they may not receive adequate healthcare due to factors such as their race, medical history, or being uninsured. Due to these fears, individuals may delay medical treatment until their condition worsens.
After practicing acute care for over fifteen years, I have always prioritized providing compassionate, dignified, and respectful care to each patient, considering their unique story. I have always seen my friends and family in every patient I have treated.
However, after the COVID-19 pandemic and the birth of my daughter, I realized that I wanted to do more as a nurse to improve the lives of others and myself. I needed a change in my life where I could practice nursing to my highest ability. I could no longer sit idly by and watch people not receive the care they deserve. I was also tired of suffering from chronic stress from a broken healthcare system, and therefore, I decided to step out in faith and leave the hospital setting. I was trained to become a transformative nurse coach to impact the World positively. As a Nurse coach who focuses on lifestyle coaching, I created Shining Light Holistic Health and Wellness to use my talents for good for the betterment of this society.
We all possess unique talents and gifts given to us by God, which we can use to make the World a better place. According to 1 Peter 4:10, "As every man hath received the gift, even so, minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." This means every good thing that we have is given to us by God's grace and intended to be used for His purpose. We are all responsible for using our gifts to help our brothers and sisters.
In this life, no one is immune from stress, anxiety, or a health issue, but having support and guidance in looking at a situation from another person's perspective is beneficial to finding the solutions in life where one may not have thought a solution lies. The best part of making an impact is assisting individuals to reach their fullest potential and equipping them with tools to navigate this challenging life confidently.
To all the good stewards reading this post, continue to be the light in this World. Shine BRIGHT!
