Embracing the Beauty Within

For centuries, women have been searching for the fountain of youth. We tend to look for it in Botox injections at Medi spas, have extensive plastic surgeries and put our bodies through grueling tasks to be "perfect". At the end of the day, it comes down to this simple truth: the fountain of youth is within yourself.

I know this is a hard pill to swallow, but our lifestyle plays a vital role in how we embrace the aging human body. We can embrace our mature bodies with love, grace, and gratitude for carrying the most critical parts of us through this human experience. We can nourish them with healthy foods from Mother Earth, feed our minds with positive thoughts, and surround ourselves with loving, supportive people. Additionally, we can nourish our souls by doing God's work to help others. This is the fountain of youth that will prolong your life.

In today's society, I see many people succumbing to the pressures of social media and the fast-paced world of "trends" around them. They feel the need to change their appearance through plastic surgery or Botox injections to look more youthful. This perspective often leads to self-hatred and internal struggles, which can result in substance abuse and even suicide.

The message I would like my peers to take away is this: you can have all the plastic surgery in the world but still feel an emptiness inside. What you feed your mind, body, and spirit matters. Embrace the beauty within; you don't need outward validation to be loved and accepted. We are all unique and beautiful. Know yourself and be true to what your inner self needs to thrive as an individual.

Affirmation for body positivity: I appreciate my body for all the incredible things it has accomplished. I am wonderfully and beautifully made.
